Puffy
the Patriot.
Sean Combs will have a special enticement
to his annual White Party on the Fourth of July - and it isn't supermodels,
drag queens or gift bags. Puffy is bringing an original copy of the Declaration
of Independence to the bash at the PlayStation 2 estate in Bridgehampton.
A Blue Star Jest chopper will whisk Combs and the document there after
his Sunday night performance in "Raisin in the Sum". This copy
is one of 200 printed in Philly on Jul 4, 1776. Only 24 were known to
exist in 1989 when a flea market shopper bought a painting for $4 and
found it under the canvas. Producer Norman Lear bought it at auction for
$8.1 million and launched the Declaration of Independence Road Trip to
bring it to as many citizens as possible -- even to party animals. Maybe
some will even register to vote.
